Anchor Gujarati Bible is a free reading and listening app for Gujarati-speaking Christians, made by Rev. VK Macwana. It is available on the App Store and Google Play. This policy covers that app. It is hosted here because the app and The Anchor Series books share an author.

The short version

The Anchor Gujarati Bible app does not collect, store, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

What the app does

The app has five sections: the Gujarati Bible (66 books), Alternate Readings, the Bhajan Sangrah hymn collection, an Audio Bible of 1,179 chapters read aloud, and Gamta Geeto, a songbook of 457 songs. Page images and audio are fetched over the internet when you read or listen online, and pages can be saved to your device for offline reading. Downloaded content and your last-read position are stored only on your own device and never leave it.

Verse of the day, and the daily reminder

The home screen shows a verse of the day. It is chosen on your device from a list built into the app, by the date — nothing is requested from us and nothing is sent to us to produce it.

You can turn on an optional daily reminder at a time you choose. Your device asks your permission first, and the app works normally if you decline. The reminder is scheduled entirely on your device: we do not operate a push server, we are not told whether you enabled it, and no notification passes through us.

Network requests

When reading online, the app requests page images from our content server. Audio Bible recordings are streamed from gcfponline.org, which belongs to the Gujarati Christian Fellowship of Philadelphia, who recorded them and whose permission we have; requesting a chapter means your device connects to their server rather than ours.

These requests do not include any personal information beyond what is technically inherent to any internet connection (such as an IP address), and we do not log or analyze them.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address.
